POMONA

POMONA
This candle is inspired by POMONA, the ancient goddess of fruitful abundance. She protects fruit trees, gardens, and orchards. Her name concurs up the apple and comes from the Latin pomum, meaning ‘fruit.’
What better season to celebrate the apple than autumn? And what better holiday than Halloween as we descend into the darker half of the year and begin to settle into the impending winter ahead? Now is the time we get to enjoy and luxuriate in all the “fruitful abundance” of the previous year.
All Hallow’s Eve is also a time of remembrance as lore tells us this is the time of year when the veil between the worlds is thin and the ghosts of those passed visit the living.
Fragrance Notes—
warm cinnamon, spiced applejack, fresh rosemary, a drop of clove, nutty undertones of vanilla & caramel
Topical Adornments:
Rosemary-sacred funereal herb for remembrance, sometimes worn to bring to mind loved ones who have passed over
Thyme-scared funereal herb to bring communion with those who have passed, carries the virtues of courage & ambition
Apple-among old earth religions, sometimes eaten for good luck at the celebration of Hallow’s Eve
Green Moss Agate-known as a stone of wealth, attracting abundance in all forms. Some say its benefits in agricultural pursuits and has been successful in promoting the growth of new crops. Planted in a pot or flower bed, it increases the overall health of plants
